Courage Poem

Courage Poem

Courage is the ability to understand your motivation
Courage is allows you to be different
Courage is like any other muscle or skill
Courage is us in the human form
The feeling that drives our minds
The actions we take for ourselves
The difficulties we overcome in our path
The winds that blow over our face as we walk on by
The birds that chirp in the early hours of the morning
The will to go outside of your comfort zone
The challenge to face your fear
The light that glows at the end of the darkness
The courage to be yourself

It can hurt some of us
                                                                but it can help strengthen
some of us, it shows a

the ideas that rome in the mind,
and the way of a new beginning opening up

Body Biography of Charles Darnay

In a Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens; Charles Darnay the main character portrays himself out to be a caring and loving individual towards Lucie by telling Dr.Mannette (Lucie's father). "Dear Doctor Manette, always knowing this hollowed light about you. I have forbone, and forbone, as long as it was in the nature of man to do it. I have felt, and do even now feel, that to bring my love-even mine- between you, is to touch your history with something not quite so good as itself. But I love her, Heaven is my witness" (Dickens 102). In this quote Charles Darnay expresses his feelings for Lucie showing that he cares for her deeply. Doctor Manette comes to know of this and acknowledges Darnay's request.

Light/Dark

In a Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens;Light and Darkness displays the tone of hope and hopelessness in the story amongst the characters. First off  "You can bear a little more light". (Dickens 36). This means if  more  people can enter the room. In specific, Lucie is the light when she walks into the room where as Dr. Manette is being shined upon by the light. Another example is "His cold white head mingled with her radiant hair, which warmed and lighted it as though it was the light of freedom shining on him."(Dickens 34). In this quote Lucie is the source of light to Dr. Manette. Lucie says in the quote she is the reason he will be recalled to life and will have 'freedom'. The last example would be "He had put up a nah between his eyes and the light."(Dickens 30) This quote means Dr. Manette was imprisoned for so long that he feels different and unusual when he sees the light since he has been in darkness for such a long time while imprisoned. The Light and Darkness reflects upon Lucie and Dr. Manette's life showing the tone of hope and hopelessness.

Wine Shop- Foreshadowing

In A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens; there is a wine spill that indicates that foreshadowing is taking place which reveals later events. The wine spill occurs in Chapter 5 when loads of people rush to the scene to get the wine. All of the people are trying different ways to drink the wine. A quote that I found indicates this.
"All the people within reach had suspended their business, or their idleness, to run to the spot and drink some wine"(Dickens-20). This quote means since the wine spill happened, people took advantage of this in order to get some free wine to drink. Another quote is when the author says "Some men kneeled down, made scoops of their two hands joined, and sipped, or tried to help women bent over  their shoulders, to sip, before the wine had all run out between their fingers"(Dickens-21). This means that the  people were trying to drink the wine quickly before the wine had gone out and had been wasted. The final quote the author says is :"Scrawled upon a wall with his fingers dipped in muddy winelees-BLOOD"(Dickens-22) This quote shows how the the wine on the man's fingers represented blood. I think that this person had encountered some kind of battle or fight.  In closing all of these are examples show foreshadowing.

Family

Family is a very valuable thing to have. Family for me means something thats special because its where you can share good memories and moments with your relatives. Sure you could also share  these very things with friends. But what makes family so special then you say? Family are the ones who are there for you and care for you through hard times. They are the first ones to come to help you in situations and not hesitate. Unlike some friends some may seem like they are family to you but they can change and betray you unfortunately. Family is a key element because you can have immediate support from the people who are close to your heart. They are the ones who listen to your needs. A connection is made between you and your family not just by blood but by emotion. I feel grateful that I have a family that cares for me and supports me when I need them the most.  Family is like a bond that protects you from dangers. They guide you on the right path by laying down rules and telling you what to do and what not to do. The importance of family is truly superior.  After all without family, life would be no crystal stair.

Sacredness Of The Ordinary

Sacredness Of The Ordinary

A valuable prize possession to me is my gold letter "A" chain that I received from my parents. It represents my family's symbolic last name. Many memories are associated with it from different family members who had it.  It brings strength, courage, and compassion to me to help me strive to reach my goals of where I want to be. Also it gives a sense of hope through hard times and good times. The chain serves a purpose of making someone become even better than they already are. My parents wanted me to have this chain because they felt that I deserve it. They believe it would serve as a good good luck charm for me. I still have the chain that my parents gave to me to this day. Whenever I look at it I remember why I have this chain and what it means to me. I feel grateful that I even received the chain from my parents. But I truly feel honored to have it. In conclusion the gold letter "A" chain will be something that I will never forget it's meaning.
